Weird esoteric bullshit
I wouldn’t call myself a religious person. While I believe there’s deities out there, I prefer respect over worship. A lot of my spiritual practices are to help me make sense of myself, and to navigate daily life. They mainly revolve around hedge witchery and otherkin. There’s also soulbonds, but I ramble about them in a different shrine.
Before we dive in...
I appreciate any concerns you might have about my well-being, given my ridiculous beliefs. That being said, I know what I'm doing. Obviously I'm not perfect, but I can put all this aside when I need to.
Anyway, if anything I talk about here resonates with you, I suggest you look into the warning signs of spiritual psychosis and cults, before you adopt any practices. Keep yourself safe out there.
Witchcraft
I’m not the most experienced witch out there, but I try. I’m pretty sure my mother has dabbled in witchcraft in the past. She’s referenced it on occasion, and there’s a couple of little altars in her house. It's not something we tend to talk about. I personally got into witchcraft after a little spiritual awakening in 2023, which mainly surrounded past lives. Other than that, I don’t think witchcraft runs in my family. Then again, I’m not well-connected with my blood relatives, so maybe I’m wrong.
My magic is rooted in what I make with my own two hands. Cooking, DIY fashion, visual art, writing, and occasionally I experiment with other mediums. There’s a handful of little rituals I try to stick to, but not many. I try to find spells that double as recipes. I stitch sigils into patches and clothes. One of my writing projects is a memoir of past life memories. I dabble in crystal work, but it’s mostly an excuse to have shiny rocks on my altar. Herbs are a lot easier for me to work with than crystals.
I absolutely believe in supernatural entities/deities. That being said, I think there’s a limit to how much I’m able to learn about them. In the past, I've balked at the idea of picking specific deities by name, as I'm never sure if I've picked the "right" one. So, I don't pick and choose. I don't give them names, and we don't chat one-to-one. I show them respect and thanks in my craft, and in return, all I ask for is some guidance in my daily life. It's my way of respecting the privacy of the powers that be, and acknowledging the limits I have as a human being. I might be alterhuman, but I'll admit to the limits of my flesh and blood.
Spiritual fictionkin (yes, THAT kin)
“Do you kin Nagito Komeda?” No, but I am kin with Killer Bean, which is objectively a lot funnier.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of otherkin, here’s a quick rundown. It’s identifying with someone/something that “isn’t yourself”. Such as an animal, or a mythical creature, or a fictional character. There’s varying interpretations of otherkin, not all of which revolve around past lives. Otherkin is by no means new, but as far as my knowledge goes, it picked up traction online in the early 2000s. I'm no historian on the subject, so if you want more details on otherkin's history, you're on your own. Otherkin is an involuntary identity. I don't get to pick and choose who I'm kin with. If you're willingly choosing to kin someone/something, that's typically what we call "kin-for-fun".
“But Rat Man, I thought kinning was just one of those fandom things!” Yeah I know. Fandom saw a niche (and ridiculous) spiritual belief online, and bastardized it. All while calling the original belief "delusional" and "crazy". Granted, I'm not 100% against "kin-for-fun". The genie is not going back into that bottle. As long as you're not an asshole who calls people "delusional" over their spirituality, we're cool.
”Okay you pedantic fuck, who are you kin with?”
I’m not going to list ALL of them, for many reasons. Ranging from “this life STAYS in the past” to “there are people who would digitally crucify me for this”. Plus, there’s just a LOT of kintypes to list. Anyway, here’s the ones I’m willing to reference publicly, all together in a cursed blunt rotation:

For the record, the background counts. Not the Backrooms, to be clear, but the background counts. I’ll leave it at that. I also forgot to add Killer Bean and I'm too lazy to go back and change it.
You might think that I tie reincarnation to some grander purpose. While I've got nothing against people who do, the idea just isn't for me. I believe in reincarnation for it's own sake, as a natural part of life and death. I'm also not a fan of the idea that life is a prison to be escaped. It's not. There is no end to the cycle, and that's a good thing. The joys are just as indescribable as the horrors.
As of writing this, I’ve confirmed over 30 kintypes. In terms of what I actually do with my kintypes, it’s not very extravagant. There’s plenty that I simply don’t think about unless prompted to. I typically don’t reminisce about my time as Kyubey or Stinger Flynn, aside from occasionally cracking jokes. There’s also plenty that I’ll dwell on from time to time, in small amounts. The Big Lebowski was my favorite movie long before I realized I was The Dude, and I think about Walter and Donny every time I pass a bowling alley. But with the exception of the permashifts, I don't really have the time to explore most lifetimes in depth. I record the bits and pieces that I know about, and I keep them on the shelf if/when I decide to dive deeper.
Beyond that, there’s three kintypes that I consider to be permashifts. Which is to say, they’re the ones in the fore-front of my mind. Two of them are former “original characters” that I was workshopping, before I realized “oh wait these are kin memories”. The third (and by far the most prominent) is Jack Rose from Just Dance. Yes, Just Dance has lore, I rant about it in my JD shrine. Jack is by far the kintype that I put the most effort into remembering, mainly because I’m writing a little memoir about it. AKA, I’m writing unhinged non-canon JD fanfiction.
Alright now you’ve got the rundown on some of my lunacy, yippee.
